What our chapter has for you if you are...
An Individual with HD
There are several individuals who attend our support group meetings who
have the HD gene. Some of us currently have symptoms and some of us do
not.
We talk about our experiences with daily living, our medications, our
doctors
and whatever else comes to mind. Please join us!
A Caregiver
Taking care of someone with HD creates some opportunities for sharing
"what works" with other caregivers. Several people attending our
support
group meetings are caregivers and we share experiences and concerns.
Come
to our support group, we can help each other.
A Person At Risk
Those of us at risk have some of the toughest issues to deal with.
Dealing
with parents who have the disease and those who are caregivers can be
frustrating.
Join us and meet other people with the same concerns.
A Concerned Friend or Family Member
By getting involved and learning all you can about HD will enable you
to offer even greater support. We encourage you to join us at our
support
group meetings too.
A Social Worker
A couple of social workers attend our support group meetings and do an
excellent job of helping to identify social services available to help
those
in need. If you are a social worker interested in learning more, please
contact
our chapter.
A Medical Professional
Many medical professionals are interested in learning more about HD and
its affect on families. We encourage any medical professionals who are
interested
to become involved with our chapter so that we can help with this
education
process and encourage you to refer patients in our area to us.
